I have FINALLY completed all of my pages for a Marie Antoinette swap, hosted by Kecia, of Lemoncholy fame.

I am posting pictures of them, but am not stating who they are going to, so that the recipient will be surprised.

Halloween Ornament Swap

These are the ornaments that I made for a swap hosted by Vivian Neroni:

OO-OO-OO! I had so much fun making these!

Journal Pages

I've never worked on/in a journal--til now! I met Tricia aka Trixie(don't you love that name--it's so RETRO!)on Swapbots, and when we discovered that we only lived a few miles apart, well, we had to meet face to face! She asked me to work on her journal, and after much fear and trepidation, I took the plunge and began work. I have given birth easier that getting it completed! But I did! I am really looking forward to getting together with her again soon! Here's how it turned out.....

Stroller for Chippie!

I had plans to meet Kecia in Columbus, OH, for the the 'Country Living Show'. Well, long story short, I was going to have to take Chippie. Not a problem, but it was either leave him in the hotel room all day, or take him to the show, but I was going to need to have him in a STROLLER!!!!!

So, I checked online--they started out pricewise around $40, and went up--WAY UP!!! They reminded me of Amish carriages, and while I don't have a thing against Amish carriages, they didn't look like they would offer enough circulation. And the ones that did were definitely not in my price range.

So, what's an artist to do? A POOR artist? One trip to my local Salvation Army put me on the right track! For a few dollars, look what I found!!!!!

Well, before I got too heavily invested in this project, I had to see if Chippie was going to cooperate. And guess what? HE LOVES IT!!!!!So, I stripped it down, and got painting!

Chippie sez, 'Hurry up!' And he also told me, 'Lotsa bling for the Honeys!'

I found a huge bag of ribbon at ANOTHER thrift store for $1--that's right, I got all of that ribbon for a buck! And got the Bohemian Buggy all laid out!!!!! It's also got lights, and plays the song by Dion, 'The Wanderer'.

And does he love it!!!!!

The bad news is though, that Chippie got sick and we couldn't go. But we'll be stylin' around town, you can bet that!!!!!

Marie Necklace

My necklace from the Charmsters yahoo group was returned to me. It is just fabulous, and I'm amazed that so many of the artists kind of researched the life and times of Marie and incorporated that into their pieces. It has taken me awhile to post about it, because, when I sent it off, I had ribbon on it, as I was battling a very obnoxious case of the hives, and metal seemed to really set it off. So, when I received it back, the ribbon was gone, and the chain was twisted, and there were all of these charms on a length of chain! Now, I don't have the ribbon back on it yet, but I do have it all figured out, and the chain is now behaving!

I removed the pages of a French language book and made it so the necklace would travel safely and securely--this is the cover:

And here's the necklace! Aw, she's a beauty!

Yes, the chain is huge--well, larger than life, just like Marie!

Fab Flea Market Finds!

Here's what I found at the flea market yesterday:

And I got this to display small things that I make and swap.

These baby books are for 2 brothers--they have some photos, report cards, TEETH!, and comments made by the mother.

And last, but certainly not least, some metal thing-ys. I think they look like the tops of crankcase oil something-or-other. Once the metal screws are removed, I'm seeing--PENDANTS!!!!!

Summertime Blues Charm Swap

Here's my charm for the most recent Charmsters Swap--the image is from a calendar page I did in Gluebot's for a RR. I edited it is PSE6 to fit the slide(in only 4 tries!!!!!), and on the back side I used dried hydrangeas from my garden!

I have tried to grow a hydrangea for years, and finally got one to stick around for awhile--it's not real big yet, but I did get some buds from it last year. That made me really happy!!!

Charms: I've got good news and bad news.......

Grab something to drink, because this is going to be a bit long! Well, we'd better get started.....

So, i signed up for a charm swap with the Charmsters yahoo group where we were to make text charms ala Deryn Mentock. Basic description: Text under a wire shape and sealed in something clear, Well, I got them made(I used DG3) and mailed off, but when they arrived, Maureen, the hostess, informed me that they had stuck to the packaging, and were cloudy. Well, I was just mortified, and asked that she return them to me. She said that I had time to make more and get them to her. I had my reservations, because I was going to do the same thing/use the same product, so I wasn't sure how I was going to get a better result, but I'm always up for a challenge.

Batch 2, same problem. Now I'm running out of time, patience and DG3. Plus, now it's time for me to go to St Louis to my granddaughter's pinning ceremony. My other problem is that I do not live near any great scrapbook/rubber stamp stores--only the chain stores, and they don't carry DG3. I was able to pick up some Glossy Accents and a resin kit before I left.

Got Batch 3 made, and used the last of the DG3 on half of them and GA on the other half. However, when I made this batch, I used a transparency to lay them out, and the DG3 did not release at all, so I had to make another half batch. Are you still with me?????

Did a test of the resin on the half of Batch 3, and it turned out great! However, Maureen had announced to the group that she has them ready to mail today!

While not anticipating any problems with making these charms, I sometimes find that the ideas that I come up with are often great in theory, but not in reality. This could have turned out to be one of those times, but because perseverence is hard-wired in my genetic code, I did find a way to make them become a reality. I have given birth easier--and faster--than it took to produce these charms, and I'm almost as happy and as proud! I hope by now, I've peaked your interest, so without further ado, here's its!!!!!

The difficulty, which I totally brought on myself, what that I used a fleur-de-lis punch on the text. The DG3/GA leaked under the paper, but this turned out to be a happy accident, once I got to pouring the resin, since it sealed the paper to the wire and created a bezel of sorts. While I now am sitting her with about 30 garbage charms, and another 8 that are usable, and about 20 kick-ass charms that I hope will find good homes.

So, if you are a Charmster in the Text Swap, and you would like to swap with me, either email me off list, or add a comment, and I will get one off to you by the beginning of next week(I want to give them plenty of time to cure!!!!!) While the bad news is that I missed out on this swap, the good news is that I did get them completed, and overcame my fear of resin!

Welcome to my new blog!

I've fought with WP long enough, and it's just too time-consuming--which is why I think I didn't blog that much! While I am having an issue, I think I'm going to like this a whole lot better. Stay tuned! And be sure you update me!

And come back to see what the new name means, and why I chose it.
